Pros&Cons of ATC Central Check&Local Check

Hi experts,

I plan Upgrade S/4 HANA 1909 to 2202.

I have to list affected object by upgrade.

Now I investigate about ATC, and I can't understand

Pros&Cons for Central Check and Local Check,

even if I read the manual(CustomCodeMigration_EndtoEnd), and below URL.

https://help.sap.com/saphelp_snc700_ehp01/helpdata/en/77/0bec863a37410eb508e99ece85d402/content.htm?...

Could you tell me Pros&Cons?

Is it just "Central check run is visible to all users" , "Local Check run is visible only Executor"?

The result would be viewed limited Developers and Administrators.

Best Regards,

Hi Toshikazu,

central vs. local ATC refers to the system, the checks are defined in and run from. If you have one central ATC system, it can do the checks for several connected systems and you only have to do the customizing of things like the check variant once. The central ATC system can have a higher version than the checked system(s) to provide more functionality especially with regards to the checks needed for S/4HANA readiness and the like.

You can read "all" about ATC in olga.dolinskaja's blog series starting here:

Remote Code Analysis in ATC – One central check system for multiple systems on various releases

For an account of how setting this up in practice, my own series of blog posts might come in handy:

Hope this helps!

Cheers
