Printing Alignment Issues for Report Lists

HI Experts,

We have encountered a problem where only one user has a problem with the alignment of all the report listing alignment when printed. During the display, the report list displays fine (in SAP view), all columns are in proper place and all the words are on the same font. Then when we print it on a local printer (LOCAL or LOCLG), the alignment of the list becomes crooked (unaligned columns), there are some changes on the font: the 1st header column are italized, the 2nd header column has a different font and not italized. Then the line items/entries are also on a different font. What's going on with the SAP Software?

We also tried this printing of the report with the same print properties as well, to other users but theirs is fine. They don't have the same printing problems with their report lists.

Hope you can suggest some solutions or pointers to check. Thanks.

Hi Cruz,

If it is working for other users then check the profile parameters of them and check the printer setting in your system.

This sounds like a driver or some setting in that user's desktop computer, since only this user is affected. If using local, I assume that you're using the F protocol....check to see how the user has defined the printer, that he/she has the correct driver, etc. If G, I assume you're using the Windows Print, with the pop-up to select printers. If you can divert to another printer on the system, does the problem still occur? The SAP LAPD print software is updated along with SAP PC GUI versions. Does that user have current GUI version in use at your installation? Perhaps the user has something installed that is intercepting the output and making the appearance adjustments and then doing the output?

Since you're using LOCAL or LOCALG, expect to find that the problem is going to be on the user's PC. SAP is just sending a text stream to the PC to be printed.

Reinstall the printer on that particular user's PC.

Use latest driver.

Thank you for your suggestions:

1) For the Profile Parameters, I checked them and there's no parameter set to involve list printing. And compared to other users, the user with issues has more or less same profile and parameters as well.

2) We will try to divert another printer, which includes installing another printer to the OS. Will also try to reinstall the current printer driver and test.

3) The SAP GUI Version is the same for all users, we already checked. And also there is no possibility that the user have installed a software to manipulate printing as the user has no admin rights and admin only control software installation. Then again, we checked, and no additional/malicious software were installed.

Now we were looking at the possiblity that the user had selected the Chinese Language somewhere (in SAP or to other software that caused these issues). But in sap login, we tested to login EN and it still has issues.
