I would suggest you to read ALE/EDI/IDoc by Aravind Nagpal.

Hey,

Refer site www.idocs.de.

In this site click the row "Idocs/ALE" and then scroll down the first vertical bar and click "THE BOOK". You will get the complete book, download it and read.You will definitely get a feel for idoc.

I am currently trying to set up ALE for the cost center / profit center / chart of accounts scenario. I can send the screen shots different cost center hierarchy between two R/3 systems. Would you be able to help me out with the procedure for doing this? Thanks. Vig
