Hello manthana99c

How did you end up with the MATNR domain having only one fixed value???????? That means, you can ONLY enter 401 as material number. Looks like somebody incompetent is playing with your system.

That is how the domain is defined in standard:

Notice that the value range is defined by the content of the MARA table.

You need to change your MARA domain back to standard. I'll also suggest to find who introduced that erroneous change and get them educated.

Best regards

Should I change the length to 18 not 40 according to standard? Too?

manthana99c As far as I can see your MATNR is already 40 chars long. You need to revert all the custom changes and bring MATNR domain back to standard, whatever that standard in your system was.

how to revert back to standard pls?

manthana99c Changes to domains are documented with domain versions. You should have a version from before the change and be able to restore that. If you don't know how to do that and if you are not aware of all ramifications, you need to ask for a help of someone who does. You are playing here with the very basic setting of the system and it is risky. It is like an open heart surgery, you don't do that unless you know how to do it.

I think I know how to restore. Just click on previous version and activate.

manthana99c I think that is you who has changed the MATNR domain in the first place, is it not? Why have you done that?

Nope. I just found this.

manthana99c Ok. So you know how to revert the changes. Make sure that the change is fully activated - activation of the MATNR domain is going to cause a torrent of dependent object activation. Each and everyone of them has to be correctly activated. The system will provide you with an activation log.

Also make sure to educate whoever has changed the domain in the first place. You don't want them to do anymore harm, do you?

ok then. I will let the system admin to do.

Thanks for great advise.
