i am in trouble. suddenly i was assigned a screen enhancement based on badi.

please give some document about badi.

BAdIs - Typical Example

Let us use an example to clarify how to work with BAdIs.

You want to carry out country-specific validity checks upon completion of an order in the core. The interface of these validity tests is specified by the interface if_check_validity.

The current country is, as always, in the field sy-langu of the type lang. To be able to work with a method of a BAdI interface, you must first get an object that implements the interface if_check_validity (depending on the current country). In the second step, you can call the corresponding methods of this object (in this case, a BAdI with exactly on active implementation is semantically most useful) and the result of the validity tests is used in the core code. In this process, the core specifies the interface if_check_validity and its contract, while the subsequent systems provide the implementations.

You obtain a handle for a BAdI instance using the command GET BADI and call the interface methods using CALL BADI. If the BAdI definition created in the core is called badi_check_validity, check_validity(data) is the method that verifies the order data, and the country filter has the name language, the enhancement point is as follows:

DATA bd TYPE REF TO badi_check_validity.

GET BADI bd FILTERS language = sy-langu.

CALL BADI bd->check_validity exporting data = data.

This code fragment shows that a BAdI is represented by a variable of the type ref to badi_check_validity; BAdI names are thus in the same namespace as ABAP data types. Objects of this type are known as BAdI handles.

The GET BADI command then searches the Repository for currently active implementations and selects the one defined for the filter value sy-langu. It is instantiated and “appended” to the BAdI handle bd, which has also just been created. In the subsequent CALL BADI, the method call is passed on to the object instance of the BAdI implementation appended to the BAdI handle bd.

Regarding BADIs, heres what we got.

Suppose you have to activate MB_DOCUMENT_BADI, here are the steps to be followed:

Code:

*Go to SE18

*Enter MB_DOCUMENT_BADI in definition and click display.

*Go to Interface tab and look at the Interface used. The methods

of the interface are given in the table there. Somewhere in MB

transactions, SAP is calling these methods.

*Now go to Menu Implementation and click Create.

*Give name to your implementation. In BADI, you can have any

number of implementations. But in function-exit, you can only

have one in-line code.

*Now go to tab Interface.You will see field called Name of

implementing class.Do not change the name. Implementation of

BADI means actually creating a class!.

*Save implementation.

*Double click on class field and you will go to SE24. See the

method parameters.

*Now what ever you write in method, will be executed by

SAP(provided you active the implementation). This is similar to

function-exit.

Steps:

1. Execute Business Add-In(BADI) transaction SE18

2. Enter BADI name i.e. HRPBSGB_HESA_NISR and press the display

button

3. Select menu option Implementation->Create

4. Give implementation a name such as Z_HRPBSGB_HESA_NISR

5. You can now make any changes you require to the BADI within this

implementation, for example choose the Interface tab

6. Double click on the method you want to change, you can now enter

any code you require.

7. Please note to find out what import and export parameters a

method has got return the original BADI definition

(i.e. HRPBSGB_HESA_NISR) and double click on the method name

for example within HRPBSGB_HESA_NISR contract is a method

7) Dbl clk on interface name to start class builder . specify a method name (name,

level, desc).

7) Save , check and activate the code.

Now write a sample program to use this badi method..

Look for “BBB” sample program.

You can use the transaction SE18 to define a new BAdI definition which may be implemented by other developers later. It is not so challenging. Here is the roadmap:

A. BAdI Definition

1. SE18

2. Enter the name for the BAdI to be created in customer namespace and press "Create".

3. Enter a definition for your BAdI and on the interface tab enter a name for the BAdI interface. SAP proposes a name and it is pretty good. Meanwhile a BAdI class is also created which is not in our concern.

e.g for "ZTEST", SAP proposes "ZIF_EX_TEST" for the interface and "ZCL_EX_TEST" for the class.

4. Save your BAdI.

5. Double-click on the interface name. It will pass to a Class Builder session to make you implement your interface. If you are not familiar to the Class Builder; it's a bit like Function Builder and it will be easy to discover its procedure.

6. Save and activate your interface.

B. Calling your BAdI from an application program

1. Declare a reference variable with reference to the Business Add-In interface.

e.g. DATA exit_ref TYPE REF TO zif_ex_test.

2. Call the static method GET_INSTANCE of the service class CL_EXITHANDLER. This returns an instance of the required object.

e.g.

CALL METHOD CL_EXITHANDLER=>GET_INSTANCE

CHANGING instance = exit_ref .

3. After those two steps, you can now call all of the methods of the BAdI where it is required in your program. Make sure you specify the method interfaces correctly.

C. BAdI Implementations

1. SE19

2. Enter the name for the BAdI implementation to be created in customer namespace and press "Create".

3. It will request the BAdI definition name to which this implementation will be tied.

4. Enter a definition for your implementation and on the interface tab enter a name for the implementing class. Again SAP proposes a name and it is pretty good.

e.g for "ZIMPTEST", SAP proposes "ZCL_IM_IMPTEST".

5. Save your implementation.

6. To implement a method, just double-click on the method name and you will be taken to the Class Builder to write the code for it. Here you redefine the BAdI interface methods.

7. You must activate your implementation to make it executable. You can only activate or deactivate an implementation in its original system without modification. The activation or deactivation must be transported into subsequent systems

Hi,

BADI(Business Add-In) is the object oriented method of user exits...

Each BAdI has a definition and more than one implementation. The definition means the methods(in class concept) that are used for performing various functions. The BAdI definition can be viewed in SE18 transaction(for standard ones) and user-defined BAdIs can be created in the same transaction as well.

When you create a BAdI definition, an class interface will be automatically created and you can define your methods in the interface. The implementation of the methods can be done in SE19 transaction

Go through this info.

gothrough this navigation.

se93->provide for which transaction code u want to impliment the badi->display option->copy the package name.

next

se18->press f4 help->information system->provide the package name->enter

It will display the all the badis.

provode the badi name->select implimentation option in menubar->create->prvide the implimantation name->enter

provide the implimantation shrt text->save the badi.

Go for the interface option->double click onthe method->provide the coding in between method and endmethod. and active the badi.

program automatically call this badi and execute u code.
