Inconsistent formatting of Excel data from ALV export

We are experiencing a problem found in this thread, but unfortunately, a solution was not provided.

http://forums.sdn.sap.com/click.jspa?searchID=62358015&messageID=9514888[url];

We have recently upgraded to SAP GUI 720 and Office 2010.

We have a custom report which is produced in ALV format. In this report are two columns positioned next to each other: a date (formatted mm/dd/yyyy) and week number (formatted ww/yyyy). These are displayed correctly in ALV.

When exported to Excel, the date values are transferred correctly, but the week numbers are converted to dates, provided the week number is also a valid month number. For example, week 05/2010 in ALV is converted to 05/01/2010 in Excel; week 26/2010 in ALV is formatted correctly to week 26/2010 in Excel.

If I remove the date column from the report and rerun the report and export to Excel, all week values are formatted correctly (week 05/2010 in both ALV and Excel).

We are having similar problems with other fields.

We did not have any of these problems prior to upgrading.

Help!!! Please.

Mark M.,

Did you ever find a solution to this issue?  I am researching it now.  ALV grid date format is in nondate fields in Excel view - commitment item is formatted as a date, for example.
