IDOC status 51

Hi all,

We have an Inbound IDOC with Message Type :WMTOCO and Process code: WMTO

This is trying to confirm a Transfer order and place the stock in storage bin let's say 1000 but at the same time the storage bin 1000 is locked by another user so the status became 51 after 15 min it tried again still the bin is locked by user so the status became 51 after another 15 min it used another empty bin lets say 1001 and posted the IDOC successfully.

Here the business wants to avoid this much time difference. so the requirement is that once it is found that 1000 is locked, lt should try for another storage bin immediately skipping the 1000.

Any suggestions how this can be achieved?

There are no exits in function module L_IDOC_INPUT_WMTOCO that pass status data as input. Hopefully you are not in an S/4 system too because my understanding is that old WM is only available in compatibility mode until 2025.

ryan.crosby2 The old LE-WM is available in S/4HANA not only in compatibility mode until 2025, it is available beyond 2025 as "stock room management".

3a9e4ce873a94034b33dc62b0ce600ee as the same code base though? My understanding is that the capabilities are not exactly 1:1 with old WM and it was an offering more in line with the old WM.

ryan.crosby2 Stock room management is not a product. It is a licensing terms to allow S/4HANA customers using LE-WM post 2025/2030 when compatibility scope rights expire. In fact stock room management covers a subset of LE-WM functionality, excluding:

  • Task & Resource Management (LE-TRM),
  • Value Added Service (LE-WM-VAS),
  • Yard Management (LE-YM),
  • Cross-Docking (LE-WM-CD),
  • Wave Management/Collective Processing (LE-WM-TFM-CP),
  • Decentral Warehouse Management (LE-WM-DWM) and
  • Warehouse Control Unit Interface (LSR).
