I can't open a new ABAP project in Eclipse

For context: Mac user, taking an Integration to SAP course in college, and need to connect SAP into Eclipse. I have made sure the Perspective is on ABAP.

I am at the near end of the first assignment where I have the plug-in ABAP installed. All I have to do is create a new ABAP project to get SAP connected.

When I went to New, selected ABAP Project from the drop-down menu, nothing happens. No pop-up window with a list of SAP servers to connect to, as stated supposed to happen in my assignment. I have tried 2 alternative menu paths:

1. File to New to ABAP Project

2. File to Project to ABAP to ABAP Project.

Nothing worked. Can anyone guide me on how to fix this?
