how to delete the variant in report

Hi Friends ,

i am unable to delete the Variant from the Report.

please find the error in attached screen shot.

Just click on the error message, maybe there is another long text for the message.

I would say, maybe it is used in some job (SM37) so it canot be deleted.

Try once from the selection screen, In the select screen Goto->Variants ->Delete.

Check the table TBTCP with the variant name where it is used.

Your variant is protected.

You have to run program RSVARENT and cancel your variant from Protection. Then follow the steps for deleting as you were doing earlier.

Use report RSVARENT if its a protected variant.

Check table - VARID with your report and variant name, field PROTECTED

You can check weather variant is protected or not in table VARID and field 'Indicator' by passing your variant name in field 'Variant'..

please check this link it shows how to make a variant protected... ex: if you create a variant and make it protected then only you can make the value changes in that variant it won't allow other users to make changes in the values.

RSVARENT this is the program which cancels the protected variants..
