Hi everyone !
Can somebody explain to me the "technical" difference between transfering files in ASC vs BIN mode.
I use TCode CG3Y to download files from the SAP server to my PC and I noticed that ASC mode truncates (after ?? characters on the same line) where BIN does not but... other than that, there has to be something else that differs from the 2 xfer modes... Any idea ?
Thanks in advance.

Caution CG3Y is OLD....minimal width (255 characters?) supported....I don't use CG3Y since most file widths I use are longer, or can be longer, than 255 characters.
