Excel Export Button on ALV Grid Blanks out the ALV Grid

I have an issue with a custom report. Right now it exports data correctly to the ALV Grid but there was an issue when users were trying to export to Excel, when pressing the excel button it gave a missing template error. So found the missing template, loaded it, and the report exported without an issue. However I'm trying to figure out one weird thing. Once it exports, the ALV grid goes to a blank white screen. Is there something I could do to prevent this so it stays on the ALV Grid?

To get answers, you should provide more information such as which ALV class was used, some relevant code too if specific.
