Event concept in background jobs scheduling

Hi all,

What is event concept in background job scheduling and how can we define and use this events to trigger a job?

Hi,

use transaction code SM62 to define events and use transaction code SM64 to trigger events.

SAP menu path is SAP menu -> Tools -> CCMS -> Jobs.

SAP provides a function module BP_EVENT_RAISE to trigger an event.

Moreover events may be triggered from OS level.

You should find the executable sapevt.* in SAP runtime.

In job definition you have to specify start time. Choose After event button there and fill in appropriate values.
