Hello SAP Experts,

My client is exploring the options of using Batch Input via SM35 or iDocs.

Can anyone tell me what is the difference between the two and what are the pro's and con's?

I know that Batch Input is more user friendly but up until today, wasn't aware that Batch Input was an option to use for EDI 820 X12 files.

Thanks!

Hi,

EDI 820 message is related to FI, I believe it is remittance advice document what you are trying to post.

While doing the config itself, we set that don't post the document and we can park the document only. If that setting is made in the transaction OBCE then it will only create a session and not post the document, even though we are using the idoc concept for this interface.

Thanks,

Mahesh.

I would suggest use IDOCs because the error can be handled with the help of workflow.

If this inbound data comes on a regular basis, it is hard for somebody to go to SM35 and run the job everytime.
