create new segment type - IDOC

hello

im new to idoc

im trying to create a new idoc named ZINV01, now i want to create a new segment type Z1INVRV, but i cant create it , its saying

" Entry Z1INVRV does not exist in EDISEGMENT"

can anybody tell me how i should create this segment type?

Hi,

From tcode WE30 you have to extend your existing Idoc type to pass the new segment. Give some Zidconame and check the radio button extended Idoc and say create.It will ask you to give the basic Idoc type name.Now once the Extended Idoc type is created go inside the IDOc and place the cursor on the required position where exactly you want to add the segement and click the segmetn create button from the toolbar buttons and pass your segment name.

Can you explain me in details how you have tried to create segmant....i think creation of segment is not a big deal...

Hello,

At first you have to use WE31 to create your Z segment. Remember after saving you Z segmento you also have to "set release" it by clicking Edit/Set release in WE31.

After this you may use WE30 to add your segment already created to your Z IDoc.

Hi

Create a segemnt in WE31 with name Z1invrv ant then

Relaease it

then create a idoc and then assign the segment to the idoc..

I think you have missed out releasing the Segment.

Goto WE31 give segment neme then

edit->setrealease..

hope this will solve your problem
