Cleaning BDCP and BDCPS tables

Hi guys,

I have a problem on cleaning the change pointers tables (BDCP and BDCPS).

My customer has leaved the change pointers active but without usage, so the situation is that in BDPCS, one message type with 270 milion of records not executed!!

Now, this entries are not necessary, we can deactivate the change pointers (BD50) but to delete the entries I have to process them (BD21) and delete with BD22.

The problem is about the huge runtime.

My question is about the cleaning of the affected tables, if you know others way to delete the entries.

Thank you

Hi Sergio,

Don't you have Obsolete change pointers checkbox in DB22 ?

This check box is intended for changed pointers regardless they have been processed or not.

If you look at the program RBDCPCLR (DB22) you will see it executes direct delete on BDCP, BDCPS or BSCP2 and nothing more. So it should be easy to develop a small Z pgm to do it (if your BD22 has not the Obsolete change pointers checkbox of course...).

Cheers
