Change translation of standard message

Hi SAP Gurus,

One of our users wants to change the German translation ("Priorität ist nicht gefüllt (Mussfeld)") of standard error message "Priority is not filled (mandatory field) - IW444". Is it safe to change the translation? I read that it is not recommended to change the standard messages though the user want to make the translation more accurate. I hope you can give your thoughts. Thank you.

Yes, it is safe as you are not changing the message itself, you are just changing its translation.
