Can I use Released Transport?

Hi Experts,

I created a transport in DEV box as ABCD123456 for my_z_Prog_1.

And I released it to from DEV to TEST box.

Now, I need to add some more code to my_z_Prog_1 & I added in DEV box.

So, now,

1 - Can I use the same released transport of ABCD123456 for the my_z_prog_1 for the did changes & saving, there by releasing it to TEST box?

(Coz, When I saved the my_z_prog_1, it prompted me to assign a Transport, then I pressed F4, so, there the the system is not showing (any) released #s.

Its showing other Prog.'s modified transports, but I dont wanna mingle with them and get confusion)

2 - Or I need to create a new transport for my_z_prog_1 (say, ABCD123457) and again releasing it!

Thanq.

Hey Sridhar

Once you release a Transport request for a set of objects and you want to make some further changes to them , you will need to create a new transpsort for the new changes.

A transport is like a container , a vehicle you can say that goes from one destination to the next. When you release it , It assumes you have taken a final decision of sending it further. So you cannot revert it back.

Create a new TR for your changes.

Hope this helps.

Hi Sridhar,

Once the transport is released, you can not use the same.

You need to create the new transport and assign it to your program and release the same.

Revert back if you have further query.

Reward points if useful.

No way to use the released transport once again in Development. Create a new transports and append your changes to it.
