BOMMAT04 - Delete BOM-items before create?

Hi there,

I have a question in using the IDOC BOMMAT04. We want to implement that the IDOC is used for recreating the complete BOM. In this case I mean that all BOM-items should be first deleted and after that new created based on the items in the IDOC.

Because it is possible that the IDOC comes with less items than tha existing BOM has, it is necessary to first delete all BOM-items (not the BOM itself).

Is that possible using this IDOC? Do you have any hints for implementing thus process?

When the BOM comes in to the system, does it have all the BOM required components or it contains only the delta (means only the changed components)? For the first case, it is better to delete the BOM and create a new one.
