What's the benefits and (possible) drawbacks of new ABAP?

Hello Experts,

I'm a rookie to this ABAP world and currently studying the new ABAP, which is ABAP 7.40 and after ver.

I see that this New ABAP looks good for code efficiency and many new syntaxes.

Are there other benefits or good things by using New ABAP versus old ABAP, like performance-wise and memory-wise?

Also, would there be some drawbacks for this New ABAP compared to the Old ABAP?

It's the same as in any programming language. New is always more efficient, more convenient, etc. New developers are trained with the new way, don't know the old way, and so old way always vanishes because old developers retire... That's life.
