Update Domain Rang Value Description in DD07T using SE11

Hi Everyone,

Good Day,

Upon editing the Description of a Range Value of a Domain in SE11,

Why is that the only entry being updated is the one with language English.

Should it also be updating the other available languages for the Domain?

Hoping for your immediate response,

Thank you and Best Regards,

Mike Montagne,

SAP works like that. It maintains all texts in the logon language. If you want to change the texts in other languages, you have to use the translation tool (option in the menu, or transaction SE63).

Hi Sandra,

Thank you for your Reply,

Will it translate the text in to the corresponding language?

for example,

Description: Hello (EN)

Translation,

Description: Bonjour (FR)

Description: Hola (ES)

My goal is to copy the same description from Language English.

    for example,

     Description (EN): Hello

     Description (FR): Hello

     Description (ES): Hello

This is because, currently, the descriptions available for all languages are the same.

and I am expecting that once I have changed the Description for English, it will change

the rest of the description for all other languages.

Thank you for your reply again,

Best Regards,

Michael

I think the only way is to translate, with the same text. For every object (domain here), you may translate all texts identically at a time, for a given language. If you have many "translations" to do, I guess it's not really a problem to do direct database updates (via SQL console or program), but be very careful of course (don't delete the database!).

Hi,

in SE11 on the screen where you enter the values select Goto -> Translation. On the following Popup you select into which language you want to translate. On the next Screen it Shows anything that Needs to be translated as a red number.

Hope that helps!

Regards

Oliver

Hi Oliver,

Thank you for your reply,

Will it basically translate the description to a corresponding language?

My goal here is to have the same exact descriptions in English among all other languages for the Domain.

Is there a way to maintain the Description without translating it  among all other languages?

Thank you again Oliver for your reply,

Best Regards, Michael
