Typical role/job of a Portal Security Administrator

Hello All,

Could anyone please educate me on what is the typical job of a Portal Security Administrator? Where does the Portal security adminstrator's job start? Does the Security administrator create the roles in the portal or does the content administrator create roles and the security administrator just assigns users to the roles created by the content administrator?

Please throw in your valuable knowledge and information to make me more knowledgeable in this area of expertise..

Hi Leena

Yes, the content developers will usually be creating the roles as part of the Iview, Page & Workset group of tasks. Formatting the entry points and how the role delivers the content to an end user is much closer to the developers role than the sec admin's. Restricting the Role Assigner and User creation functions to the Portal Security Administrator seems to be the natural split in SAP EP.
