Standard cost of a material!

Hello all,

I have a question here. We are developing an IDOC interface which is used for changing the STANDARD COST of a material. I am using IDOC type MATERIALVALUATION_PRICECHANG01. Do we need to fill the valuation type field in segment E1MATERIALVALUATION_PRICECH.

I think we need valuation type only if we are changing the moving average costs. Please let me your ideas.

And what about the segment E1BP_MATVAL_PRICEDATE? Do we have to fill this if we are changing the standard price of the material?

Thanks

Guess it depends on how your part is valuated and @ what level it is valulated.

Did you check MR21 transaction??

Vijay,

Can you please explain me a bit more clearly?

Note: we are NOT going to have a material managed in different stock accounts at a single plant level.

Thanks,

Hi Somen,

Each part can be valuated either @ plant level or Company code level. It can also be valuated based on various factors. Most of the cases it is valuated @ plant level.

Check MBEW table this will give you information on Material Valuation.

For more info you can connect with ur MM Consultant, they would be able to help you with more information.

Goto transaction OX14 and check how the material is valuated in your company.

I went to OX14 and the valuation level is at plant level.

Should that matter, if I am trying to change the standard price?

You need to pass PLant while changing the value otherwise system will throw a error.

Vijay,

No no...I am not talking abt valuation area (plant)...I am talking abt valuation type. Is valuation type needed when changing standard price of a material? No doubt I have to pass plant anyway.

Thanks,
