Hello all,

This question has been asked several times but i could find no satisfactory answer for this.

I have purchase order number(EBELN) and item(EBELP) details from EKKO and EKPO and i would like to select the MSEG with this information which causing the performance issue.

So the question is, is there any other way of doing this other than creating the secondary index in MSEG on EBELN and EBELP?

or Is it wise to go EKBE with VGABE = 1 ?

thanks

Hi Ramesh,

I don't think you will ever find a definitive answer for this. If you search on SCN (and you probably already have) you will find many threads on this matter, such as:

Performance Issue with MSEG | SCN

[Performance Issue] Select from MSEG | SCN

and others. Pretty sure there's an OSS note about this too.

Anyway, I will not give you a solution or definitive answer, both options work fine, depending on your use case.

Cheers,

Custodio

What details do you want from MSEG ? Is it related to stock remaining, intransit etc ? In this case get it from view MDUB.

Yes you could also consider using EKBE table as suggested in good old Note 191492 - Performance: Customer developments in MM/WM. But there are other values for VGABE : IN (1,6,7,8,9).
