Hello everyone,
I have a few questions and cannot find anywhere the answers. Hopefully, there will be someone who can answer them and help me with my final masters thesis about SAP SuccessFactors Learning information system.
I would like to know if SAP SuccessFactors Learning already works in Europe with interoperability standard xAPI (tin can). I found on the web that it works already with SCORM and AICC interoperability standards. I heard that xAPI is planned to be a part of SAP SF Learning, but dont know if it is already implemented.
As new release showed, Joule is a new chatbot assistant which is supposed to be a part of SuccessFactors solutions. Is it already implemented in SAP SuccessFactors Learning in european countries or is it still in progress..?
OCN (Open Content Network) is a function of SAP SuccessFactors Learning to provide learning content from SAP external partners such as LinkedIn Learning. I also found on the web that there is a possibility to integrate LinkedIn Learning with SAP SF Learning, so users can see in SAP learning catalog courses from LinkedIn Learning. My question is, while these systems are integrated correctly if there is a possibility to record any data to SAP SuccessFactors Learning from LinkedIn Learning (if an user for example completes a course), will be data recorded in SAP SuccesFacotrs Learning?
Thank you very much, if there is something which can help me a little bit to understand these topics I would really appreciate your answers. Thx

Dear Filip,
I have been administering SuccessFactors LMS already when it was Plateau.
Plateau was part of the initiators behind CMI5 (the merged format betwen TinCan xApi and other attempts to define the follower of SCORM2004.
With the SF acquisition of Plateau in ealry 2011, and right after the acquisition of SF by SAP late 2011, the LMS module was no longer (as far as I perceived) in top priorities by SAP.
Hence, xAPI has been on the roadmap since 2011, long time not accepted for development. But recently added to the roadmap, however no committed delivery date.
Joule was release only for early adopters in US, and is not available in Europe (not clear if all countries have it), but it will be most effective as of the H1 2024 release in May.
Finally, yes, the OCN connector does two main things:
All in all, OCN works well. Some considerations however:
Good luck for your masters

Hi Kristian,
I just needed a real expert like you. I am very grateful for your comprehensive answer. You helped me a lot in understanding the given topics. When analyzing Linkedin Learning, I also found that their suggested personalized learning paths are very powerful. I am doing my masters thesis in one company that currently uses SAP SF Learning as well as Linkedin Learning, but both software are not integrated to each other, which I see as a great opportunity for employee development specialists to monitor employee education directly in SAP as well as offering employees an expanded range of educational courses from LiL. I also found a way to connect both systems on the web, but I didn't know if SAP could collect data from Linkedin Learning.
Fortunately, someone like you was found and thanks to you I understood everything, for which I owe you my big thanks.
