I am looking for some validation in the PDF preview option (output / spool) and behavior in SAP. Especially how it works in your current S4 system. We have some issues and can not pin point it's a SAP issue, Adobe issue or something else. It's different from our ECC system hence looking for some validation.
Currently GUI 8.00
GUI Options - Interaction design - Control settings = Internet Explorer.
Working with ADS.
In SP01 - when we branch to display on screen - you can go into the menu and select PDF preview.
- ECC behavior - popup if we want to save to file and display "normally" on the screen - you can press the zoom option to make the document a little better.
- S4 behavior - no popup to save and a big gray block is shown. Display saying 100% zoom. Now when we scroll down we are able to view the document - but completely FULL SCREEN. Now when we press the zoom option - suddenly the document is really scaled on the page (like in ECC). Looks like 2 gray blocks above and below the form is added.
I have reviewed some settings in our Adobe Reader that was suggested from OSS notes. We also tried program FP_TEST_00 from an OSS to check the behavior and that is working perfectly w/o issue even the option to save the document to a file.
Additional behavior: When we switch to option in SAP GUI to Chromium the PDF preview now returns blank screen and using zoom functions it does not magically make it appear.
I would like to know
- How is your PDF behavior in your S4 system? Does it generate directly the print on screen, do you get a popup for saving the file, or same behavior like our system.
- Any hints that might be helpful to troubleshoot? I have searched for OSS and tried a lot but without success.
Note we are working directly with SAP and looks like they have no idea and categorize the behavior as a feature in S4 and would like to have evidence if that is true (or not ofcourse.....)
Merci!
