Question on abap background job

Hi Experts,

Could you please let me know if we can schedule a background job which basically creates a log or spool or display ALV O/P for 2 lakh records and download that in excel sheet for about 2lakh + records in excel. I am running on S4 HANA OP system.

Excel allows max 1 million records per sheet, so 2 lakhs (200.000) is fine.

Look in the forum for cl_salv_table=>to_xml for explanations about generating an Excel file (works even in background).

(or use abap2xlsx if you want to customize the format in the Excel file).

Hi Sandra,

Thanks for your reply. I would like to execute a program in background as background job which has an output of 50 fields and around 2 lakh records. I want to display the ALV output as spool so that it can be downloaded later in excel format . Kindly let me know if this is possible.
