PREMN Search help: Add new fields

Hi,

I have a requirement where I need to add the below fields to the PREMN elementary search of PREM collective search help

“Middle name” is linked to field PA0002-MIDNM and
“Second name” is linked to field PA0002-NACH2” and

“Known As/Nickname” is linked to field PA0002-RUFNM

For this I copied PREMN to ZPREMN along with its selection method and appended it to PREM.

But now I have two tabs in the collective search help (one which is the old one without middle name etc. and the new one with the 3 new fields)

My requirement is only to show the new one. Is there a way to remove the standard PREMN and show only ZPREMN?

Regards,
Aparna

Hi!

You can only append custom search helps to standard ones.

Once the user chooses your Z search help, his choice will be remembered, so I don't think it's a problem that PREMN will stay there.

Well if that is the case, then is there any way that I can bring ZPREMN to the front and position it as the first tab? Cos, there a hell lot of tabs now in PREM.

Aparna,

You need to use the hidden option.

In order to do this follow the below approach.

1. Create a APPEND SEARCH HELP.

2. In the APPEND SEARCH HELP, add the elementry search help (the standard one) that you want to hide.

3. Set the hidden option. Save and activate

4. Goto the std collective search help via SE11 and use GOTO->APPEND SEARCH HELP

5. Add the search help that you had just created.

6. You will now see that the original std elementry search help is hidden.

This is modification free (you dont have to supply a key to do this)

Thanks,

But how do I append a standard search help (PREMN) that already exists in the included search help list of PREM? Where do I perform step 1?

You create append search help to PREM, say, ZPREM and add PREMN to it as an included search help. You'll need to set it hidden. After activation of append search help standard search help PREMN will be hidden.

Hi Aparna,

You can make use of the Hidden checkbox parameter in the included search help.Just enable the hidden option for the standard one.

Read the sap help if needed more information.
