master data maintenance in Hindi - urgent

Hi,

Is there an option of maintaining master data in hindi,as the client requirements want the report to be displayed in hindi.

Also in the ALV report,if we have fields coming from diiferent tables,& each line item has a text,this too needs to be converted to hindi,please let me know,if we can make changes here.

I believe that SAP doesn't have a option of displaying the text in hindi.

No we have an option of converting our reports to hindi,we have to use hindi logon for the same.

Else go to SMLT and check status of Hindi language, if required complete language translation with english to prevent german display. (2446912 - SMLT: Guided Answer for language installation and troubleshooting )

check transaction SE63(standard translation environmemt)

in that click translation->abapobject.

here u may get chance to use different languages just check them,it may help u.

Very correct,but in SE63,v r just maintaing the text elements for reports,but in smartforms we need to fetch the data from standard tables,thus have to maintain data in hindi.

I have query concerning the master data to be maintained in hindi,if u have ever worked on hindi reports or have some write up for that.

I have a similar requirement in smartfroms basically i want to display the static text as hindi. Could you please help me to get that , i have done the setting in i18n -> MS word Editor there i have checked smartforms and scripts .

After this i can see hindi in my smartform text-element but when i execute it all comes wrong all the 'Matras' doen't come right.

Please help me to rectify this.

Its urgent please help.

Hi Rachit,

I have worked on Smartforms in hindi,I have also displayed ALV reports in Hindi.When you are working on smartforms,just ask the client to type the hindi text in MANGAL font in a MS word document.Once you have the softcopy of the document,copy paste the appropriate data in your smartform.You do not have to maintain text elements in smartforms,they will be used only in ALV.

this is a small piece of code I worte in my smartform.

IF wa_grid_yield2-barea = 'DGF'.

val1 = 'डीजीएफ'.

ENDIF.

IF wa_grid_yield2-barea = 'DSF'.

val1 = 'डीएसएफ'.

ENDIF.

IF wa_grid_yield2-barea = ' '.

CLEAR val1.

ENDIF.

Hi Sneha,

First of all thanks for your reply , i have tried what you have said but i am not able to solve the problem yet all the matras still not coming correctly , what i have done is as follow:-

1. I installed the hindi font in my local system , for this i have copy paste the downloaded Mangal font file in the Fonts folder in control panel.

2. Now in the MS word i typed some words using the mangal font now as per you said i copied it and try to use in my smartforms.

But still the words are not coming correctly where i am going wrong please tell me.

Is there any more setting which i have to do.

Also please tell if any setting is also needed for printer.

Please help as it is really needed here.

Hi Rachit,

Sorry for replying late,PLease follow these stpes for the settings in Hindi,also make sure u r logged into the Hindi logon.

1.In transaction SPAD the following SAP note was added.

SAP Release Note number: 809034 (Support for Arabic font with SAPWIN)

2.In Transaction SPAD -> click on Full Administration -> Device Types,The Z value shows the addition of the Arabic font in SAP.

3.To add the Hindi font to the output device: click on Devices / Server -> Output Devices ->Create

4.In Device types: add ZARSWIN (the Arabic font addition done in the system) & save the changes.

First of all thanks for all the help you are providing.

I have done everything that you have said , i have logged in using Hindi language but when i log in using Hindi log on everything turns in German .

My problem still remains the same . Please suggest what can be done .

Hi rachit,

this problem will remain.hindi logon has the disadvantage of getting the whole tcode in german.thats a limitation,but u can always check with a english login for the various names,if they look confusing in german.

I am getting all confused about your problem,U need to tell me exactly what the error is,coz I have mentioned all the steps u need to follow to make reports in hindi.I don't think I have missed any point.Let me know what the exact issue is.
