Hello, experts! Could you tell me what the difference between MARA-HERKL and MARC-HERKL is? Are they always the same?
Many thanks!

Hi,
HERKL - country of origin
MARA - material maintained at client level - so if you maintained the material at client level - the material origin country is applicable for all plants. You have the single source of material to procure
MARC: it should be maintained at plant level. Can be the material originated for specicif plant only. might be applicable for that plant only.
In general the A material can be originated from US,DE,CH,IN....
from which cournty you want to procure, that depends on the plants or business agreements
Thanks,Kiran

Hi Shelwin,
Pretty sure I saw this question before, maybe some search would help (if you haven't done yet). Anyway, I assume the MARC value is plant specific and the MARA would be a "default" value, so no, they not necessarily are the same.

Hi Kiran!
According to what you said in "MARA - material maintained at client level" paragraph, if I maintained material at client level, would the maintained material's corresponding HERKL be the same in MARC?
And according to "MARC: it should be maintained at plant level" paragraph, if I maintained material at plant level, would the HERKL in MARA be empty?

Hi,
If you maintained in MARA, it should not copy to MARC. You need to extend it again.
if you maintain it MARC - its applicable to plant only! MARA could be empty
Basically this will appear at the time of goods receipt and goods issue. particular in MCHA/MCHB tables will have the correct HERKL
