Lack of documentation XSJS getMetaData?

Hello everyone,

I just want to ask you if there exists some documentation regarding getMetaData function inside XSJS module? Because for example in this post [https://archive.sap.com/discussions/thread/3376895], I can see that @thomas.jung is using this method, but I cannot find how to use it.
