hi,
1. You can check under SYSTEM-->STATUS under the box Compnent Version field.
2. Try this system Variable SY-SAPRL, Which gives the Version of SAP.
for Example 620 = 4.7.
3. if you want the SAp release in your program . Please check the system field SAPRL in table syst

hi
thanque for ur response
ur ans is------> Versions are like Macro-level(Top level), where as releases are something like micro-level(low-level). So inside a version basically, lot of software components are installed. So whenever a software component is upgraded, it usually comes with a new release no say 620, 640 etc. So even if you are using version 4.7, if your basis people has upgraded some patches, that particular component now may have a new release no, but your version may be the same. Where as version is like upgrading the entire system from 4.7 to 5.0.
how to find Macro_level currently we are working with

Hi,
In Component versions -> See the release of SAP_APPL. It shows as 500 for ECC 5.0 , 470 For 4.7 Etc..
Sap_basis shows as 640. That is GUI ( frontend) Version..
The next column shows the levels. Levels are nothing but the Patch Levels.
