Error while runnig SCAT ttransaction in background.

Hi SDN,

I am running CAT in Background it's giving me ERROR Fuction code cannot be selected.

but the same works when i am running it in foreground.

please let me know the reason.

go through this SCATT recording process and work accordingly,.

CREATE FRAMEWORK

• Start with Transac

tion Code = SCAT

• Input a name into the 'TEST CASE' field. (Name

must start with

'Z')

• Click on RECORD TRANSACTION

• Inp

ut the transaction code you wish to record for and click on

RECORD

• Input the transaction in full including posting/saving the

entry.

o Enter any header data and hit enter

o Enter required line

item data and hit enter

(If multiple lines required for the one doc

ument, do all before

hitting the enter button)

o Save (post)

the entry.

• Click on BACK

• Click on END RECORDING

Input a desired TITLE the click on SAVE

• Click on LOCAL OBJECT the

back out and SAVE again

SET PARAMETERS FOR FIELD SELECTIONS

• Select your TEST CASE and click on CHANGE

• Double click on the

TCD

• Double click on the first SCREEN number

• Click in t

he FIRST required field and click on INSERT IMPORT

PARAMETER

Repeat this INSERT IMPORT PARAMETER for other fields as desired

on thi

s screen

• Click on NEXT SCREEN and repeat the INSERT IMPORT PARAMET

ER as

needed

• When no more screens required for field selectio

n back out and

SAVE changes

PREPARE THE TEXT FILE

Select your TEST CASE and click on GOTO > VARIANTS > EXPORT

DEFAULT

• Give a suitable file name and save to a directory of your

choic

e.

• Open that file in EXCEL and make the following changes:

o Delete row "*** Changes to the default values displayed above

not

effective"

o Format the cells to be all TEXT format

o In

row 3, remove any field values shown

o From row 4 onwards, insert

the desired values into the field

columns

• Save the file back

as a TEXT file again

REMOVE THE DEFAULT VALUES

• Select y

our TEST CASE and click on CHANGE

• Click on the PARAMETERS button (

F7)

• Blank out all the default values

• Back out and SAVE ch

anges

RUN THE CATT SCRIPT USING THE PREPARED TEXT FILE

Select your TEST CASE and click on EXECUTE

• Choose a PROCESSING MOD

E (foreground/background/errors)

• Set the VARIANT to EXTERNAL FILE

and CHOOSE the appropriate file

• Click on EXECUTE or REMOTE EXECUTI

ON if appropriate.

• Depending on the processing mode chosen,

complete the execution

of the file and check the results.
