Do we still have background job restriction for ALV with IDA?

While trying to run ALV with with IDA, the runtime error 'Control Framework: Fatal error - GUI cannot be reached' occurs.

Background processing is required for huge data.

Is there any solution for that other than using old FMs/ALV frameworks?
