Changing custom table delivery class from A to C

Hello Group!

I have a requirement to change the delivery class of a Z table from A to C (so entries can be transported). The table already exists in production and has data in it. 

Will the data in the target systems (production, quality) be deleted once the change in delivery class is moved?

Has anyone done this?

Changing the delivery class won't be a problem.

Just to be clear, though: you could also transport entries in a "A" table - just create a transport, and enter the keys of the relevant entries. The difference between "A" and "C" comes to bear when you maintain entries via a generated maintenance view, over SM30: here, for a class "C" table, you will be prompted for a transport - if the client is set (in SCC4) to "Automatic recording of changes".

Correct, the requirement is to stop the usage of the maintenance view and only move entries via transport from the development system. 

So my question is, will the entries already existing in the production system be deleted if this change takes effect?

No, it won't delete any existing entries.
