ATRA: Unable to write to the measurement data file- no trace started in ST12

Hi Experts,

What is this error: ATRA: Unable to write to the measurement data file- no trace started.

I get this when I try to execute ST12 trace, with my user id and current mode as transaction WE19. It doesn't take me to WE19 after I start trace.

Kindly share your experience with this.

Hi,

May be you don't have write access to trace file location.

Check for failed authority (SU53), you could compare your authorizations with a standard role like SAP_DVM_SERVICE.

Hint: Also insure no other user is currently running another trace ST12, ST01.

Thank you for your response. It got rectified on its own. It now directs me to WE19.

Should I close this thread, or leave it open for exact reason, so that this thread might be helpful for others.

It doesn't seems helpful to others with your kind of solution 'It got rectified on its own'.

Did you make any changes on authorisation side or something?

No changes to authorisations. Might be due to some temporary memory issue.
