404 Error in connecting a HTML connection to ABAP system RFC

Dear Experts,

I am configuring sap personas. When I try creating an RFC - HTML Connection to ABAP system(Type - H). I get the 404 response timeout error.

Please find the procedure I have followed in the attached file.

      Did u checked your firewall status ,Please see if it is ON ,Just OFF the Firewall settings and try           once.

Hi pavan,

I just checked firewall status and yes its OFF only. Please correct if the host name is just the domain alone. Check whether what I have maintained is right. I have taken the host name from SMICM transaction code.

Can u attach the screenshot of the RFC connection error u are  getting

Did u maintained parameters before doing the RFC connection test

i think this is normal behaviour because the URL <host>:8011 did not point to an service

so you get the response 404 not found.

try to trigger a service in sicf  /sap/public/ping there you will get an answer

Thanks for all your response.

I just re-created the RFC, and to my surprise it works good now.

But I have a problem in displaying the Personas button. May be I will create a new thread for it.
