UNITTESTGENERATION

I would love to use this feature. Hopefully the results will then be better as during the beta phase where all the generated code was using hungarian notation (despite my code not using it). Also the coverage of factory methods and CREATE PRIVATE-classes was not working well. So hopefully I can soon evaluate Joule again and see better results 😀

I would like to see Joule knowing the context and provide me add-ons to the existing UI.

Also, I could see PROCESSGENERATION. I am interested to know what processes can be developed by Joule to make our job easy.

DECISION SUMMARIZATION
Summarization provides the advantage of transforming overwhelming amounts of information into concise, digestible insights, helping users save time and focus on what truly matters.

DATAMODELGENERATION

defining data models can be time consuming, having the ability to generate them (and then adjust or extend them) would be a great feature, as it would allow me to get some of the basics done and let me focus on other topics like UI and designing the app.

First that I saw was UNITTESTGENERATION. I assume that Joule will prepare unit test data, test scenarios and do the tests.

DATAMODELGENERATION

Creation of data models is time consuming and it's the base of the application. With the help of SAP Joule, generation of data models will be done within seconds. Developers can really speed up significantly app development, which will result in lower cost of overall development.

The Joule for developers capability you found first - Generation
From Joule's generation capability i can automate SAP CAP (Cloud Application Programming) code creation, accelerating development by generating entities, services, and Fiori elements. This enhances efficiency, reduces errors, and streamlines project setup.

CODECOMPLETION

Code completion is one of the most important skills because it speeds up development, reduces errors, ensures the correct use of standard functions, and most importantly, helps maintain consistency by following current coding guidelines.

CODEMIGRATION

One of the key requirements. For example when the developer wants to migrate from javascript to typescript in ui5.It is very useful and i saw that joule is doing a very great job in that.

PROCESSGENERATION

Process mapping and identification is most important step. It can also be used for clean core concepts to standardize process and use side by side extension if it doesn't fit into process.Processes needsto be standardized and then based on mapping whether in-app extension or side by side can be decided.

Just to clarify - my above post was in reference to Joule for ABAP (as far as I can tell only SAP has access).

@Siarljp , the ABAP AI features are available to customers now too! Here is how you can enable it as a customer:

For ABAP AI capabilities you will need to sign up for a no-cost service SKU called 'Joule for developers, ABAP AI capabilities'. This just ensures you understand the SAP AI Terms and agree to them. Once you enable this service in your BTP global account, the AI capabilities are made available for use. If you need help adding this service to your contract, please reach out to your SAP account team, and they can help you get setup.

DATA MODEL GENERATION

PROCESS GENERATION

And if I can think out-of-the-box, I would say just SAS (missing one A) Software as a service 😄

  • How you envision to use that capability and to what advantage

I use AI daily in my development work. The main advantage I see is faster delivery. Our partners and customers can access more features more quickly. This represents a true digital transformation.
I also noticed that more citizen developers can work on extensions more easily than ever before!

  • PROCESSGENERATION
  • I think it can be used to generate process automations using existing processes and try and evaluate several approached and thereby going with optimized one. Also i believe it can be used to automate processes.

UNITTESTGENERATION

This will save a lot of time for developers, as Joule automatically is going to be able to generate ABAP unit tests for ABAP classes and CDS code.
