Introducing the New Project Creation Wizard within SAP Build Lobby

Introduction:

We are pleased to announce the launch of an enhanced Project Creation Wizard in the SAP Build Lobby, designed to accelerate and streamline your project initiation processes. This new tool reflects our commitment to incorporating user feedback and optimizing your interaction with SAP Build. 

Background: 

To better understand user needs, we conducted extensive research involving interviews with a diverse group of users.  

A common theme in user feedback highlighted the need for a more intuitive project creation flow, starting with the user's objective before progressing to tool selection. Users expressed interest in new capabilities directly accessible from the Lobby, such as Node.js Full Stack and Java Full Stack options. 

Different Project Creation Options

Our findings guided us in redesigning the project creation process to align with user preferences and streamline the initial steps. 

What’s New? 

• Intent-Based Navigation: The redesigned Project Creation experience prioritizes the user's goals and required tasks. Relevant project types are grouped logically to facilitate easier and faster selection, ensuring intuitive project management. 

• Consistent Experience: In line with Fiori UX guidelines, we offer a seamless and consistent experience across the Project Creation Wizard and Extensibility Wizard. This step-by-step approach provides clarity and guidance, helping users make informed choices regarding their unique scenarios. 

• Modern Look & Feel: Project creation options are categorized by Objectives, Categories, and Types, assisting developers in locating the right tools promptly. This organization allows for future expansion with additional capabilities.
