Orlando, like New Orleans and Las Vegas, is a conference city. The promise of warm weather and lots of entertainment options provide ample reason to hop on a plane to ‘enrich’ oneself.
SAPPHIRE NOW provided the opportunity to visit Orlando this week whereas a Disneyworld vacation got me here two years ago. Being my first time participating in SAPPHIRE NOW I didn’t quite know what to expect, and as I reflect on the experience I can’t help but feel that in many ways the SAPPHIRE NOW experience is just like visiting Disneyworld. Here’s why…
Scale – Compared to other theme parks (even Disneyland) Disneyworld is HUGE. It is impossible to see everything in a single visit and you’d better wear comfortable shoes. Similarly, SAPPHIRE NOW is HUGE. It is half a mile from the south to the north concourse, and veterans of the show wear their most comfortable footwear.
Immersion – When you visit Disneyworld you truly feel you are part of another world, one rich in creativity and promise. SAPPHIRE NOW also achieves immersion. It is here, perhaps more than any other occasion, which you can truly understand what SAP is about and the full potential of our collective aspirations.
Attitude – At Disneyworld guests and employees alike are infectiously happy. This same attitude permeates the SAPPHIRE NOW show floor. Customers, partners and employees alike were excited to learn about how we will help businesses simplify everything so they can do anything.
Last night I left Orlando as I had before, a bit physically tired but mentally invigorated. Similarly, both my Disneyworld and SAPPHIRE NOW experiences have left me with one desire – to come back soon.
