As part of the event organizing team I had the opportunity to join the Talent Summit not only in Walldorf but also in Bangalore.
On Monday, March 9 more than 200 talents of P&I had the chance to attend the first Talent Summit Bangalore at ITC Gardenia. The colleagues from India followed the invitation to this learning and networking event by Member of the Executive Board of SAP SE, Products & Innovation Bernd Leukert and the local co-sponsor Dilipkumar Khandelwal, MD of Labs India.
Our agenda was fully packed with informative and motivational Keynotes, inspiring Innovation Demos and engaging Group Works.
The morning began with an Opening Keynote by Dilip. He pointed out the importance of transformation and being disruptive (or getting disrupt).
After Dilips Keynote, tanja.rueckert, EVP & COO of P&I and Head of Customer Innovation & Services joined the stage and informed about Innovations@SAP and the new Intrapreneurship Program. The highlight of her speech was a list of 10 don’ts for success in work life (don’t play a role, don’t wait to be asked, don’t believe you know everything, …).
The agenda went on with a speech by P&I HR Business Partner Lead elke.manjet. Her speech was focused on SAP's transformation to the cloud company and requirements for that change as well as learning opportunities at SAP.
After a coffee break it was time for some insights from externals. We had a customer presentation by Paresh Puranja, CEO Business Transformation & IT of wellknown Polyesters Limited. He gives insights of SAP (Adaption and Challenges) in today’s business scenarios from a customers view. His speech was followed by the energetic keynote ‘Increase Productivity by creating a culture of Trust and Accountability’ by external speaker Shiv Khera, a famous and popular motivational speaker from India.
After all the motivation and inspiration (and a hearty lunch) it was time for the attendees to be active themselves. They had to work out predefined topics in groups and show their creative thinking, innovative approaches and organizing / problem solving skills. After two hours of brainstorming, discussing and preparing, 15 groups presented their ideas live on stage to the P&I executives. Finally three winner teams each for best performance and best content were identified and congratulated by the executives. The live voting of these winner teams was conducted by our Talent Summit event app.
Besides we had demo pods covering internal and external technologies like littleBits, Google Glass, Development University and the new generation in project management. A fascinating Innovation Demo was showcased by Team Indus, the only Indian entity in the prestigious Google Lunar X Prize. Google Lunar X PRIZE is offering the largest international incentive prize to the first privately funded teams to safely land a robot on the surface of the Moon.
Dilip closed the event before everybody enjoyed an exclusive rooftop dinner with delicious food, refreshing drinks and the opportunity to reviewing the event with other participants.
You might wonder what my part among all these top-class speakers, executives and talents was. Well…I was responsible for the event app, so to speak the event app onsite support. That means among other things, I scheduled the polls for the live voting, helped attendees with problems that came up during the event and activated the event survey.
Thanks to the whole organization team in India, for working day and night for this event. But I would also thank my team in Germany to give me –as a working student :!: – the unique possibility to join them on this trip to incredible India. Another thanks goes to all this great, motivated and engaged attendees!
Thanks for an amazing time, great experiences and many new acquaintances!
