On premise – IT is a major player, cloud, it is line of business. The customers expect to do everything with their system
On the cloud, the system is upgraded continuously
Update cycle on premise is slow; cloud is fast
In cloud – only loosely coupled extensions are allowed; only those that survive the upgrade
On premise – the customer can use modifications

You can still have ABAP and ABAP in Eclipse; in S4 you have more

“Time to value” is key. Design tools for S4 so business users and experts can change the S4 system
Figure 5 shows the basic stack of S4 – database table, application has core data services (data base view for code pushdown to database) and on top is the OData service, then you have reports, UI, e-mail

Figure 7 shows the ABAP Web Editor where you can do ABAP coding in a Web based editor
See the recording for a demo. In the demo we saw that CDS views that act as queries, and "you don’t need a separate BW system" and “BW is not bad” - still use, but for just reporting in one system you don’t need BW
