Welcome to an experiment!

I’d like to try to tempt you to take part in a New-Yorker-style cartoon caption contest. I'm hoping that this will be an opportunity to unleash the pent-up humor genes of the global SCN community.

I’m afraid there are no prizes (legally, it’s hopelessly complicated), but you will win the undying admiration of the community, and (if you’re game) we’ll feature the winning entry here on SCN and elsewhere.

Here’s the incomplete cartoon:

Rules

  • Just come up with the funniest phrase you can to illustrate the cartoon above, and enter it as a comment to this post
  • You have 7 days from today to submit your entry in order to take part in the judging.
  • Multiple entries are fine — but remember the goal is quality rather than quantity
  • Please be nice — sarcasm is fine, but defamation and insults wouldn’t be cool...
  • Don’t hesitate to (respectfully) add your own spin to somebody else's entry — the name of the game is collaboration.
  • Vote for your favorite comments/captions by clicking the "like" button below each entry
  • If you'd like to be notified about new entries, click on the "receive email notifications" or "track" in the Actions box to the right of this post.

And if you think this is a fun idea, please spread the word!

[UPDATE: And The Winners Are: Cartoon Caption Contest Winners] -- many thanks to all who participated!

Welcome to HanaHaus. Can I make you a latte?

Everything is well connected except three loose-ends are hanging  on the ground (may be input/power) hence  the system may be incomplete

I am telling you, this will make a mean cup of coffee. However, for only 50% more I can add a toaster function as well?

simple mistake really, the consultant said to put the wires at the front for easy access but now the they do not reach the power supply at the back.

Complex?  Maybe - but it's still simpler than the U.S. tax code.

We've covered 12C, Exalytics, X10 etc. but here at the end we have the final, critical component of our HANA-killer, the Blahbulator. It looks like a font-loading washing machine, but has much more SPIN.

Now how do I indicate which one I liked? Or is this the "double or quits" strategy which helped you win the lottery as well? 🙂

And that's why we're introducing Tarpaulin (tm). It covers all the complexity, and you now get everything you need by pulling on a few bits of rope, and pulleys...

If you only concern with input/output then this will not be visible anymore, we are going to encapsulate it soon in next version.

On the same note:

We'll put a panel in front of this machine, that way you don't see the complexity behind it. We'll call it a cloud application haha
