We are currently holding our first BOUG Meeting of the year. Here, as always is your too fast, too furious recap.
While SAP has a ton of under-the-hood improvements slated for FP3, the story of this release is Exploration Views as far as I'm concerned. It's been a long time since they've released a new product that was sexier for everyone from admins to end users. Dare I say it, but SAP may not be talking this up enough?
Classic Data Warehousing case study, very well presented. Couple of really good Project Management takeaways that are relevant far beyond the scope of a BI or BOBJ project. My two favorites? Make the big decisions early (akin to the Fail Fast methodology, without of course the failure) and pay attention to UAT ("I've never been on a project where the business started UAT when they were supposed to.")
Personalizing your BusinessObjects deployment can have huge benefits to your end users. This presentation isn't available on the BOUG website at present, so I'll point you at some Dallas Marks blogs to get some ideas.
This is one of the more heavily attended BOUGs in recent memory, so I can't waste time getting to the networking. Don't forget to look up your local BOUG through ASUG.com or BOB.
