Scheduling Records

Hi,

I need clarification on how scheduling record is done.

Scheduling can be done at level of portion and at level or MRU.

If scheduling is done at level of portion then the same schedule is followed by all MRUs in the portion.

The scheduling at portion level is overwritten if scheduling is present at MRU level.

Is my understanding correct?

i hope u already know that mru is a entity inside portion.so scheduling a portion and a mru will refelect in each other.

but according u say its over written ,i dnt think that word suits here since they form a entity.thats y u have the provision to schedule either in portion or in mru..

remember 1 thing portion can have many mrus..but mru can be allocated 2 only 1 portion..

Your assumptions are not entirely correct. As said in the previous post, the portion and MRU complement each other. There is NO overwriting...

Look closely at all the dates in the portion and the MRU. Read the F1 help of each field, the help files and the info in SPRO. There's a LOT of good documentation.

A very brief summary of the difference between a portion and a MRU:

Portion:

Controls Billing and Budget Billing dates
Divides the region (installations, POD) based on the MOMENT of billing/meter reading (eg: january, february, etc...)

MRU:

Controls meter reading dates (including planning of MRU, sending of MR notices, etc)
Controls meter reading types (optional) (always by MR company, alsways by client, etc...)
A MRU is a subdivision of portion, grouping the region in geographical units (or sometimes logical units)
Be aware that SAP recommends not to have more than a couple of thousands of PODs per MRU, for performance reasons

Portion:

Portion houses MRU's.

Portion Generate Billing dates.

While configuring portions better consider Regional criteria.

MRU

Whereas for MRU,consideration given to meter reader can read in one day.

As u might knowing MRU generates Meter reading dates.

We could go on for pages and pages on how to divide a customer base into portions and MRU's

I think the main message in that should be that it's a BUSINESS decision, with a heavy impact on workload and organisation. So it's not just a technical config to make in the border of an implementation.

Hi,

If I use a Dynamic Scheduling ,and custumised an Intervals of 0 days (Order Creation- Scheduled MR Date , Order Download-Schedule MR Date..) -> All these will run in 1 day.

I've recieved a schedule records as I wanted,but what if I will create Order before the "Creat Order Date"? Is there any added Functionality of these dates?
