Goto transaction RSO2~~>select the type of data source you required~~>give the name of the data source to be created~~>click on create~~>give descriptions and application component to which this data source to be belongs to-->then give the name of the table/view through which you are going to create your data source...if you are using function module...click on function module name..save and activate..

HI,

A generic datasource can be created for Transaction or master or text data. And, it can be created based on a table/view or infoset or a function module.

Goto RSO2, select the radio button for which you want to create the generic datasource. Enter the Application component for which you want to create this datasource. After that, eneter the description for datasource. Select the source (table/view or infoset or function module). Depending on the requirement you can chose one of the above sources and the then create a generic datasource. If you want to have delta capabilities for this datasource, then when you hit the "generic delta" button, you will see your options. You have to specify the field that is utilized to determine the delta. You also have to specify the type: time stamp, calendar day, or numeric pointer. You also have options for a "safety interval" like with the finance extractors.

Hi,

1. Go to RSO2,

2. Select whether you want to create Master data Attributes / Texts/ Transaction data.

3. Give Datasource name ex: 'ZGEN_SOUR'

4. Then, choose whether you want to extract data directly from a Table/View/Function Module.

For Table, it is enough to mention directly the table name in the respected place.

For View, You have to create the view (database view, projection view...) using tcode se11. Then use that view name in the respected place of rso2.

For Function Module you have to define the function module.

5. Then choose Generate. It will give all the fields of the datasource created. there you can set further settings like ( inversion, hide...).

Then you can use this datasource to extract data.
