Difference between header and Line item please

Can any one let me know the difference between Header and Line item tables with a small example. Like for example , We have BKPF (Header Table) and FAGLFLEXA (Line Item Table)...What is header and what is line item here...Just need a clarification

Header is the document and line items are the items of the document, for example:

In one invoice (header) can be several invoiceables concepts (line items) or in one purchase order (header) you can order diferent materials (line items)

Hi,

Line item dimension means the dimension contains precisely one characteristic. This means that the system does not create a dimension table. Instead, the SID table of the characteristic takes on the role of dimension table.

The header data is one which do not change frequently and the item data is one which change frequently.

eg.

customer id customer name are header data they are primary information

while.

cusrtomeradress phone no. material quantity change frquently and they are item level data

header and item level data are related by a key here customer id.

note: at header level there will be only one record pertaining to cone customer while there can be many record at item .level for one customer.

Primacie and precursor is the how your R/3/ECC configuration is.

Have functional guys tell you whether they have configured OLD gl or NEW gl.

If its new then FAGLFLEXT - Header table and FAGLFLEXA - Line item table can be used.
