Value Type and Version

Hi,

In most FI extractors, I see Value type (mapped to 0vtype) and version (mapped to 0version). Can anyone please explain the difference between them? Can you please share examples?

Hi Jason,

We use 0vtype and 0version for reports to compare actuals and planned scenarios.

U can search in forums, lot of posts available with examples...

Hi,

You may have some scenarios of planning attached for FI.

Say for 0version : you can have plan, actual, forcast etc.

Hi,

Indicates which planning version has been used for the data that has been posted to the Business Warehouse system.

The default value is 0, that is, the most current version

<b>Value Type:</b>

Indicates which type of values should be posted to the Business Warehouse system. You can choose between:

Actual figures

Plan figures

Target figures

Hi,

Version: This helps to identify the data most latest version of data for reporting to

be considered as well as planning and forecast..

Value Type: This helps in identifying the data whether it is a plan data, actual data

normally actual data would have value as 10 and plan data would have

value as 20, which would help in building the BPS and other planning

tools besided the regular BW reporting..

Value type: This indicates the nature of business transaction . For example the key figure you are seeing for a given cost center is actual or budget or forecast or commitment and so forth.

Version: Version is when you different snapshots of business scenarios.

For the same value type ( except actual) you can have mutiple versions, for example initial, review, final, approved, etc etc.
