Info Source :

An InfoSource is a quantity of information that logically belongs together, summarized into a single unit. InfoSources contain either transaction data or master data (attributes, texts and hierarchies).

The structure in which these are stored is called a communication structure.

There are basically two types of InfoSources.

InfoSources with flexible updating

Info Sources with direct updating

Check this for infoprovider,

hi

info provider..

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/28/4c553c42360a40e10000000a114084/

infosource

infosource definition is nothing but the communication structure that you design to map to the transfer structure. Logically grouped objects in the infosource basically reflect the the data provider to which you would be loading the data thru the infosource. So most of the time the structure of the infosource would be the structure (similar) of the data provider. Just as all the logical objects would relate to a dimension, the same would be true to infsource too.

hope it helpss...

cheers.

Hi

Infoarea is like a folder to keep all relevant objects under one roof

Infosource is a source of information to supply data from data source to data target.

Infoprovider is a data storing object like our tables but in a different format and structure..which provides information based on your query.

Hope it helps

Thanks

Teja
