Need to maintain single database script for SQL Server and HANA

Hello,

Currently we are using ‘SQL Server’ as a backend database. We have a requirement to provide support for HANA database.

We are maintaining all the database changes in a ‘.sql’ Script. We would prefer to maintain a single script for both HANA and SQL Server.

Attached file (syntax-difference-sql-server-vs-hana.png) contains some of the syntax differences we have found. Also there are differences in the way Triggers, functions and Views are written in SQL Server and HANA

Could you please suggest if it is possible to maintain a single script that can be executed on both HANA and SQL Server?

Each product has its own database language, I don't think you can maintain such scripts for both of them.

What you can do is to study the languages of both databases and create a program that would generate scripts automatically based on the selected database. I've done that in the past when I worked on a database migration to SQL Server and worked well for me.
