check data in psa?

Hi all,

I have a req where in i have to extract 10mill records from r/3. Once i do this how can i check all the data in the psa at once if it possess more than one datapacket.Is there any way to do that.Let me know if the question makes sense or has to be explained more clearly.

Hi Pratibha,

You can check data in the PSA by clicking the PSA tree in RSA1 or by clicking the PSA icon in the data load monitor. But why do you need the data to be in just one data package...with 10 million I'm not sure that that would be possible...

How do you propose to check the data (assuming it is possible)? Matching no_of_records, sum_of_kf, ???

Assuming you know it on R/3, you can go to corresponding PSA table (get the PSA table name from RSTSODS table??) and specify the request no to get the total no of records.

I would check the number of entries in the PSA table (not in RSA1) and compare it with those in R/3. Hope this helps.

could u explain me more clearly, how can i get the psa table name from this table rstsods. The short text beside the odsname field reads name of the persistant staging area.

Specify your datasource name in ODSNAME field, and the corresponding value in field ODSNAME_TECH will be the SAP table for PSA.

Hi Ajay,

The name of the data source is given in odsname field and field odsname_tech is the psa table name and this should be checked in BW. Is there any other way to check the psa table or this is the only way.
